The product typically has a firm foothold in the market, but is threatened by new technologies. But new technologies are not only becoming relevant in the company’s own market; there is also a continuous need for adaptation and modernization in its own core and support processes. At the same time, a creeping, passive generation change is taking place in the company’s own management team and among key performers, whereby certain competencies cannot even be maintained in the company itself due to the size of the company.
